I recently traveled to Costa Rica with my husbands family. This was a fantastic multi-generational trip where we got to spend quality time with the whole family. For this once in a lifetime trip we decided to stay in a luxury villa instead of a traditional hotel. This enabled grandparents, cousins, siblings, aunt and uncles to all stay under one (very luxurious) roof and meant that we could really enjoy every waking moment together.
I highly recommend villa rental for a Costa Rica vacation. Costa Rica is typically a very active vacation that can be tailored to a variety of activity levels. We spent our days zip-lining, white water rafting, hiking, and exploring wildlife in Manuel Antonio National Park. After a long active day it was really nice to come back to our luxury villa and relax.
Our villa, like most luxury villa rentals, was staffed with a house mother who provided daily cleaning as well as a chef who prepared delicious meals, snacks and everything in between. We awoke each day to an amazing breakfast - and when we returned from a long active day there were cocktails and snacks ready for us to enjoy. This also gave us the option of just staying put in our villa some evenings . While we did venture into town for dinner a few evenings --- after a particularly active and exhausting day zip-lining it was so nice to come back to our villa, take a hot shower, put on comfy clothes and enjoy an incredible chef prepared dinner together.
This was truly a vacation that everyone enjoyed and it was so nice to be able to experience it together as a family.
