I am constantly on the lookout for that special hotel, restaurant or activity that will stand out for my clients. I have always been drawn to boutique hotels and experiences and keep up with the latest trends and trendy spots around the world.

In addition to my specialized knowledge, I offer my clients concierge-level service. I prefer to handle fewer clients and pamper them to the hilt than to book a lot of all-inclusive resorts and mass-market options. My goal is to tailor every trip to the specific style of each client, whether they are families, couples or single travelers.

For example, I arranged some special experiences for a honeymoon couple during their stay in Paris. They stayed at the glamorous Hotel Costes. It draws a lot of famous people--models, actors, football players--and it is a place to see and be seen—especially in its popular restaurant/bar. It is also in the heart of Paris, near the Place Vendome and Champs Elysees, so there is high-end shopping, bistros, and cafes, almost right outside your door.

Many people take dinner or tour boat trips on the Seine, but it is not so romantic when you are surrounded by people. For this couple, I arranged a private boat ride around Paris with champagne and strawberries. I timed it for sunset, which is the height of romance.

A lot of my clients are interested in Vietnam. Most want to visit Hanoi city, where the historic Metropole, now the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has been the place to stay for more than a century. Graham Greene, Somerset Maugham, and world leaders have stayed there and the staff still wears French Colonial-style uniforms and provides formal service.

Halong Bay has scenery that is out of this world. I usually suggest seeing it on an exclusive small-boat cruise; the one I sailed on had just a handful of cabins, all with balconies. The boat had a putting green and Jacuzzi area, huge bathrooms with tubs looking out at the bay and more staff than passengers. We went kayaking, explored amazing caves and were astounded by the beauty.

Another favorite spot is Chiang Mai in Thailand, where the most unforgettable experience is interacting with elephants on one of the eco-preserves. You can walk with the elephants through a forest and then groom and swim with them. They are very gentle and playful. One kept splashing me and I would splash back.
