I have welcomed hundreds of travelers who have booked Canadian Rail vacations through my office. My favorite route offered by Rocky Mountaineer operates between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies. The journey takes two days and includes an overnight stay in a hotel in Kamloops, BC. Two classes of service, Goldleaf Dome and Silverleaf Class, offer comfortable seating and spectacular views. On-board attendants provide lively commentary about the regions you are traveling through. Breakfast and lunch are served on the train each day.
The First Passage to the West is the favorite route for many travelers. Passengers travel from Vancouver to Banff or reverse while experiencing the historic route through Mt. Revelstoke, Glacier, Yoho, and Banff National Parks. The time you spend before and after your rail journey allows you to explore Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies.
Please keep in mind that when booking this scenic rail journey, it is not a fast-moving train. Expect the train to make many stops because freight trains take priority. Knowing this will help prepare you for this amazing journey.
Another important fact is that you have two choices when booking with Rocky Mountaineer. It is possible to book the 2-day rail separately, adding hotels, sightseeing, and car rental independent of the rail portion of your vacation. I will also be pleased to confirm any of Rocky Mountaineer's pre-set itineraries and will direct you to my favorite options.
Discover a wide range of quality accommodations throughout Western Canada and receive complimentary breakfast and room upgrade space available at select hotels.
Once we finalize your itinerary, you will receive a personalized itinerary complete with detailed driving instructions, sightseeing information, restaurant recommendations, and more!
