The ultimate family and friends’ vacation is a private cruise. I booked a Gulet off the coast of Turkey for clients. They had an amazing experience exploring the small ports along the coast. A Turkish Gulet is a traditional sailing vessel with 2 or 3 masts. The staff were given full details about the group, and together we arranged their special experiences on shore.
Other luxury cruising options include river cruises, which are extremely popular and there are such a wide range of choices all over the world. Consider Europe, but also the Mekong or The Amazon! Luxury private barges are another great option. Most are in Europe and can be a wonderful and relaxing experience. Private yachts can also be the ideal way to explore the Greek Islands, the Mediterranean or the Caribbean. I love the experience on the small luxury cruise lines such as Seabourn, Silversea Cruises, Crystal and Regent. I have also sailed several times on Windstar Cruises including a 148-passenger sailing ship in Tahiti. Smaller vessels are much more intimate and can navigate into smaller, more desirable ports.
