Amy Parker
Early on, I was fascinated by far-off lands and drawn to books set in exotic locales. Heading off for college, I just wanted to travel, but couldn’t figure out how to do that. After graduating with a finance degree and working in the corporate world, I fulfilled part of my dream by traveling with my soon-to-be husband across Europe and the Middle East for two months.
After that, I began helping friends and family realize their travel dreams and plan trips for my own family, which soon included two sons. Fast forward to the day that changed my life. My sons were in middle school. The phone rang. It was my travel agent, who knew me well, offering me a part-time job. She turned out to be a wonderful mentor.
I learned that in addition to discovering new places myself, I love figuring out logistics, finding unique experiences or hidden gems to make a trip more memorable, and building relationships with my clients and the many travel suppliers and industry professionals that I work with every day. From day one, I knew this was what I wanted to do.
Ten years ago, I became a Protravel International travel agent. I chose them for their amazing presence in the industry and their network of well-vetted and loyal providers that spans the globe. I also love that Protravel is affiliated with Virtuoso. Both Protravel and Virtuoso are known and respected as among the best in the industry, which opens doors for me and my clients around the world.
