Travel is my passion and I love what I do - designing individual itineraries everywhere in the world for clients who enjoy it as much as I do. There’s such a sense of adventure experiencing unique cultures, staying in beautiful places, and tasting the flavors of unique cuisines. I take great pleasure sharing my insights & experiences, my contacts & personal recommendations to create a dream adventure that will become another cherished memory for someone.
My travel career began in the late 70’s right out of college with an art history degree, as a vacation agent working first in Lakewood Ohio, then Denver Colorado and finally in New York. In those many years I traveled extensively visiting over 80 countries and taking at least 15 cruises.
In addition to enjoying the travel I became personally familiar with hotels and hotel managers, museum collections, and the best/most sought after restaurants in each destination (the aspect of travel that everyone seems to relish.
After taking over another agent’s business, for 20 years I booked the touring companies of most of New York’s premier dance companies - often traveling with them. Two highlights were the night the American Ballet Theatre performed In the Harod Atticus theatre by moonlight in Athens on the side of the Acropolis; and accompanying the Alvin Ailey Company through Eastern Europe - the first time they ever saw a black dance company.
By then I wanted to return to booking luxury leisure travel and I established my own business under the umbrella of Zenith Travel, which eventually became Protravel - now in partnership with Tzell Travel & Travel Leaders, and what is now the largest & the finest association of travel experts in the industry.
