I have worked in the travel industry since 1985 and been named Travel + Leisure Magazine's Top A-List Agents numerous times as well as Travel Agent Magazine's 25 Top Agents (2009). I am a PADI certified Divemaster and an experienced backcountry survivalist. I have hiked, camped and dived on 7 continents and am constantly visiting new and developing destinations to develop ideas for responsible, reliable tourism in the world's beautiful open spaces and waters.
As a PADI Divemaster, I have visited Myanmar, South Water Caye in Belize, Hawaii’s Puna Coast, and Ibiza, in the past year alone. I specialize in pairing diving opportunities with cultural destinations, and strive to work with operators who support local economies and are serious about conservation and sustainable travel. Travel +Leisure magazine recommends me as best for “adventure and thrill seekers,” and notes “Becker’s connections in marine-research circles produce one-of-a-kind trip opportunities (recently, a biodiversity-research expedition in Kiribati).”
My mission takes shape in the crafting of unique itineraries involving diving and adventuring in the world's most spectacular and pristine places. My team is dedicated to extremely high standards of service for any comfort level, and we are powered by over 30 years of travel and adventure industry experience. Our itineraries encompass everything from camping and backpacking to the most deluxe resort offerings and city stay options; all backed by a sense of personal service and reliability that is professional and consistent.
I am multi-lingual and maintain homes outside Lake Placid New York, and in Oakland California. As a multi-instrumental musician, I was recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America for my work playing piano for the Arizona based Gin Blossoms in the early 1990s (see blog article)
