Donna Devore
I was born into the travel business. My parents started Rich Worldwide Travel, one of the most prestigious agencies in the country (later acquired by Protravel International), and traveling has been a part of my life from my earliest memories. With every trip, my desire to experience new cultures and discover the diversity and beauty of the world has grown—and once I became a travel agent, so did the desire to share my finds with others.
The Caribbean, Europe, South America, Africa, and India are among the destinations I know in depth. I also specialize in adventure travel, beach and sun, safaris, family vacations, and independent itineraries. In every corner of the world, I research the best ways to stay and experience the essence of the place, and I can assist you with anything you need to make your vacation unforgettable.
One thing that sets me apart as a travel agent is that I don’t just arrange flights, hotels, and tours. I’m always thinking about what you personally enjoy and what I can do that will make your trip even more special. I even answer the questions you may not think to ask. For example, a couple wanted to go to Tokyo to see the cherry blossoms on New Year’s Eve. I had to tell them that the trees aren’t in bloom year-round.
Equally important, I’m with you every step of the way. If you need anything while you’re traveling, I’m looking out for you. Recently, a client texted from Capri to ask where he was going the next day and what time he needed to be ready. He and his wife trusted me so much that they hadn’t even looked at their itinerary before leaving, and they’d left it at home. I emailed it right away. Another client was at a very high-end resort in Jamaica that didn’t have TVs in their rooms. She phoned me to demand I change her hotel. Instead, I arranged for TVs to be connected in every room in her suite right away. She was impressed.
Over the years, I’ve built trusted relationships, not only with my clients but with tour operators, hoteliers, and experts around the world. Wherever you go, there is someone local I can call on to stay on top of political situations, sort out any problems that might arise and update me on the hottest restaurants, shows, and activities.
Having friends around the world is like having a port in every storm. Soon after a terrorist event in India, a client’s daughter was going on a school trip there. I was able to reassure her and give her daughter 24/7 access to the local representative for Abercrombie & Kent, one of my top suppliers, and someone well equipped to deal with anything. There was never a problem, but the mom had peace of mind.
My network of contact also helps me arrange unique experiences, from painting lessons in Paris or at a 16th-century chateau in the Loire Valley to a horseback riding safari in Kenya. What’s on your bucket list?
