Joe Bilardo
My first travel agent-related experience came at a much younger age than most of my counterparts. When I was 18, my family and neighbors—there were 28 of us altogether—didn’t want to deal with the hassle of planning a trip, but we wanted to take a cruise. So, I rode my bicycle down to the local travel agency and hashed out all the details with them. The vacation was a major success, and I was hooked!
After that trip, the agent I worked with gave me a part-time job while I was in school. I took a brief intermission to help out my father with his construction company, but soon found I was missing the experience of helping plan dream vacations. Obviously, I returned to the travel agent industry and never left.
I worked with several other agencies before I found my way to The Travel Business, and independent agency of Tzell Travel Group. I loved the opportunity to work with a variety of major clients who were traveling for their art. We started working with many museums around the world, helping them arrange flights, hotels and ground services for their artists and the operations crew. It has been a wonderful life-changing experience having the opportunity to serve such legendary partners as the Zwirner Gallery and the Pace Gallery in New York City. I soon found that I couldn’t get enough of art-related travel and developed it as one of my travel agent specialties.
Through a network of professional connections and referrals, I now also work with the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
If you have an upcoming event, contact me today! I can help you get the most out of your next trip and can help you organize everything that you need that goes into art events. I look forward to assisting you with your next trip.
