Europe is a dream destination for many people, and Italy usually tops their wish list. It’s not surprising because Italy has something for everyone. The hardest thing about planning a trip to Italy is convincing clients not to try to cram everything into one trip. Many people don’t realize how exhausting it is to pack and unpack every day and how little time that leaves for more than a cursory look at each place.
One client wanted me to help him plan a surprise engagement trip. He wanted to go everywhere and only had a week, but after talking about what traveling to so many places would really be like, he decided to rent a villa on the Amalfi Coast. He came back thrilled and now they are thinking of going back to another region of Italy for their honeymoon.
The key when it comes to Italy—or anywhere for that matter--is to allow enough time to enjoy it. There are so many special experiences I can plan for you: cooking classes that start with buying the ingredients in the market, wine tastings and meals in family-owned vineyards, guided visits to art museums. In Italy, you might learn to make pizza from scratch. In France, perhaps you’d like to take an art class. Holland is a wonderful destination to go bicycling from town to town.
What kind of European adventure would you enjoy?
